Nothing adds, the healthy Tatami was made.

 
The original additive-free material raise with the healthy ground
Soejima Isao Shoten Co., LTD. adheres to Tatami, which is using plenty of the rice straw, and Igusa of decrease agricultural chemicals. For customers' comfort in use, we perform the residual-agricultural-chemicals examination based on the registration suspension standard of the rice of Food Sanitation Law.
 
The Tatami, which considered people and environment
1. Insent control processing, anti-tick processing, and the anti-bacterial treatment have been carried out to no components at all.
2. 100% of rice straw, from the Chikugo district by which decrease agricultural-chemicals cultivation was carried out , is dried more than for one year, and it is used for inside material.
3. Tatami facing uses Igusa from the Chikugo district by which decrease africultural-chemicals cultivation (about 1/10 of the usual amount of the agricultural chemicals used) was carries out, and carries out only "mud dyeing" processing which does not contain dye.
4. The lining cloth of a tatami is using cloth of 100% cotton woven in the Chikugo district.
5. The inside material of Tatami and the material of Tatami facing were performed residual- agricultural-chemicals examination.
 
From making the healthy ground
In order to make good Igusa, it is from making the ground first.
In the Chikugo district, both rice and Igusa are produced by couble-cropping. It continues groping for various methods, such as a lactic acid drink, and milk, a garlic, white distilled liquor, wood vinegar liquid, and only about 1/10 conventional agricultural chemicals are used at present. We use the freshwater snail eating weeds, without also using a weed killer as much as possible. Igusa of the "Chikugo Tatami" which grew up with the healthy ground has the body firmly up to the point of a leaf having strength, flexibility, and gloss.
 
Using the much rice straw
Neither science system materials, such as polystyrene form, nor the strong toxic insect control sheet is used for the "Chikugo Tatami" series. We make the inside material of 100% of rice straw which was dried well and which can smell of the Sun. Rice straw grown by decrease agricultural chemicals waits to put it to sleep also at least for more than one year, to dry thoroughly, to avoid attaching an insect, and for redidual agricultural chemicals to disperse.
Rice straw is the material. which returns to the ground. It is the method accordant to very natural reason to make the Tatami using much rice straw in the Japanese rice-culture.
 
Igusa changes to amber
Probably in Japan, many people think that the greener Tatami is beautiful. However, Igusa is a natural material. After the suntanned, Tatami has become amber, which is the original natural beauty of Tatami. However, in the market, Igusa of many tatami facing dyes green by chemistry dye and is shipped not only by the product from China but by also some of Igusa from Japan.
In quest of the material of a safe Tatami, Soejima Isao Shoten Co., LTD. looked for, asked and walked around all over the production famhouses. Now that, we have made the traditional way of Tatami facing dyed only by tha natural dye-mud.
 
Sorting is repeated for weaving
Igusa is divided in length at first, and is cut to same length. And sorting is repeated again and again. Igusa is ectended on a knee, or is a pipe, and is extended like a shape of fan, in order to find and eliminate every one of damage as crack or suntan by people!s eye and hand. Finally it applies to a loom. However mechanization may progress, if there is no eye for judging Igusa and care of Tatami masters, it will be difficult to make good Tatami facing.
